Intelligence Settings

Workspace Intelligence settings let admins control which AI models are available to members and which model is selected by default for new Companion conversations.

What Intelligence settings control

Harmony can use models from multiple providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, Groq, OpenRouter, and other providers made available in your workspace.

The Intelligence page controls:

  • Enabled models: Members can only choose models that are enabled for the workspace.
  • Default model: New Companion threads use the workspace default unless a user has their own saved preference.

Individual users can still choose their personal default from User preferences > Models, but only from the models enabled by the workspace.

Configure available models

  1. Go to Workspace Settings > Intelligence.
  2. Expand a provider to see its models.
  3. Check or uncheck individual models.
  4. Use Select all on a provider when you want to enable or disable that provider’s models in bulk.
  5. Click Save Changes.

The page shows how many models are selected, such as "12 of 45 models selected."

You must keep at least one AI model selected. If you try to save with none selected, Harmony asks you to select at least one model for the organization.

Set the default model

  1. Find the enabled model you want to use by default.
  2. Click Set as default.
  3. Confirm the model shows a Default badge.
  4. Click Save Changes.

The default model is used for new Companion conversations in the workspace. Existing threads keep the model they were created with.

If you disable every model from the provider that contains the current default, Harmony clears the default and you will need to choose a new one.

How workspace and user settings interact

Workspace Intelligence settings decide the available catalog. User preferences decide an individual user’s default within that catalog.

If a user’s saved model is later disabled by an admin, Harmony falls back to the workspace or provider default until the user chooses another enabled model.
